When a Smartwaiver is published, the waiver adopts it's own URL. It's important to note that the waiver templates URL will never change, even if you update the waiver. However, keep in mind that new waivers (even copies of one that exist) will always adopt a new URL.
Smart waivers can be used via a link to the website or at your location as a Smartwaiver Kiosk. When you click "Publish" on your waiver, both versions are automatically created. Below is some more information on both versions.
When you create a Smart Waiver, two versions of the waiver are produced:
- Website Version
- Kiosk Version
The waivers are very similar:
The Website Version:
- requires participants to validate their email address as an additional identification step
- does not require the participant to download any additional software to view
- can be placed on any website via the URL
To grab the URL of the web version of your waiver, you can navigate to Create/Edit Waivers section of your account after logging into www.smartwaiver.com
Then, click on the link icon to automatically copy the URL of the waiver to your clipboard:
The Kiosk Version:
- requires you to download the Smartwaiver Kiosk app for your respective app store (Apple & Android only)
- is typically used by businesses to help participants sign the waiver on site.
- participants signing waivers in the Kiosk Version are in front of your staff and therefore do not require the additional identification step (only needed if required by attorney).
- allows access to some additional features, such as the "Auto Photo Capture", which will capture a photo of the participant upon signing.
Hopefully that clears up the difference between the two versions of your waiver! Let us know if you have any additional questions at support@smartwaiver.com!
