Auto-Tagging allows you to pass a custom value (with a maximum length of 64 characters) via the URL you use for your waiver. The value you use could be any unique identifier for the participant signing the waiver such as a customer number. When a waiver is completed using this link the waiver will automatically be tagged with this value.
How to use Auto-Tag on your waivers:
- Determine your waiver’s GUID (Globally Unique Identifier).
a) If your waiver’s URL is: https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/4fc7d12601941/web/
then your GUID is 4fc7d12601941
b) Next create a new link: https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/GUID/web/?auto_tag=1234
- Replace the letters GUID with your waiver's GUID. (Alternatively you can shorten the length of the URL by using a Custom URL instead of the GUID. View this brief video to learn how).
- Replace 1234 with the value you’d like to auto-tag (this must be URL encoded). So for example, if the value you would like to auto-tag is a customer number: cust2432, then your URL for your web version waiver would look like: https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/4fc7d12601941/web/?auto_tag=cust2432
- If you’d like to link to the kiosk version of your waiver instead of the web version simply add &auto_kiosk to the end of the URL: https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/4fc7d12601941/kiosk/?auto_tag=1234
Anyone Else Need to Sign?
By default, after a waiver is completed online the participant will receive the message above. Because Smartwaiver's auto-tagging system uses cookies, this can result in multiple waivers having the same tag. If you'd like to disable this page from appearing for your participants, add the following to the url:
https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/4fc7d12601941/web/?auto_tag=1234&auto_anyoneelseneedtosign=0
By default, "auto_anyoneelseneedtosign" is set to 1 but you can explicitly set it to 1 to re-enable "Anyone else needs to sign" after disabling it on the same computer.
