Smartwaiver's new video tool is ready to use and is available for all accounts. Adding a video to your waiver is a great way to communicate important safety information, explain expectations, or provide participant instructions before a waiver is signed.

Our users are now able to have a video play prior to sign their waivers - and they can set it up through the waiver editor settings at anytime.

Setup:

First start by heading over to the "Create/Edit Waivers" section of your account, and click into one of the waiver templates:

Then, click into the green "Settings" button towards the top of the editor. This will bring up your waiver settings:

From here we'll scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list. You'll see your account now has the option to add a video:

Click on "Select Video" and find the video with the new window. After selecting it, click on "Upload to Vimeo" as the last step. 

• Video files take time to process through Vimeo depending on the file size, length, and quality. (You can click the 'View on Vimeo' link to check processing status.) 
• Once uploading is complete you will see your live video on the published waiver.
• You do not need a Vimeo account to use this feature. Your video will be stored in Smartwaiver's own Vimeo account.

You'll notice there's a few additional settings here as well:

Make Video Required: By default, our waivers allow it's participants to skip:

"Make Video Required" hides that button so that participant must watch the entire video to proceed to the waiver:

"Include a message instructing participants to watch your video": This is the message that displays above your video before playing. If this field is left blank it will read:

When you're done adding the video and adjusting your settings, close out the waiver settings window. Be sure to click the green "PUBLISH WAIVER" button towards the top right of your screen to save your changes.

Offline Mode

Video playback requires an active internet connection.

If a waiver is opened while the device is offline:

• The video will be skipped.
• The waiver will load immediately.
• Participants can continue completing the waiver as normal.

This behavior applies whether the video is marked as Required or Optional.

Can I still use YouTube videos?

Existing YouTube videos that were previously configured may continue to work, however all new video uploads use Smartwaiver's built-in video upload feature through Vimeo. 

File Size Limits

Please keep in mind that we do have a limit of 20 GB per account - if you have multiple high quality videos uploaded, consider lowering the quality or having less waivers configured to a video.
