Your Waiver Settings has many different options for how to fine-tune your waiver and have it operate exactly as you need.
The Settings button (the green button at the top of the Waiver Editor sidebar) opens a window with several categories of options that govern how the waiver behaves, separate from the content and questions on the form itself. This includes email settings, signature settings, social sharing settings, kiosk behavior, and more.
From email confirmations to adding a video to your waiver, we're going to go over each option in detail below:
Business Name: When a confirmation email is sent upon waiver completion, this will be the name of the business that shows in the email. This can be left blank, but we usually encourage using your business name.
Reply-To-Email: The email that the confirmation email will be sent from. Typically we recommend changing this to your company email in case one of your participants has a follow-up question.
Send Confirmation to Participant: Sends the confirmation email to participants when toggled on. You'll need to activate this to see the rest of the options in this section.
Send a verification email to participants to complete your waiver online....: Requires the participant to confirm their email after submitting the waiver. Recommended if you find that your waivers are attracting a lot of unwanted signatures.
Add a custom text to these emails: Allows you to customize the message that gets sent in the follow-up email.
Email waivers completed and verified online: Will only send you the waiver receipts if the waiver was verified by the participant via their email.
Email waivers completed at Kiosk: Will send a waiver receipt to ANY participants that completes the waiver via Kiosk.
Add a scannable barcode: Adds a barcode to the email confirmation. If you have the appropriate barcode scanner, this will allow you to look up a signed waiver via the "View Signed Waivers" section of your account by scanning the barcode.

Using a barcode scanner at your front desk
Kiosk
This will customize the message that's shown on the Kiosk after a waiver has been completed. It can be a nice way to give participants a "you're all set" moment.
By default, the message reads:
Using this setting, we can customize it to say anything:
Sharing
This section refers to the page that shows immediately after completing your waiver. This page can be further customized through these toggles:
Ask Participants who completed a waiver online to share....: Adds easy-to-access buttons that link directly to the participant's social media. Enabling the toggles further allows you to customize the specific message that is used.
Show a "Forward my Waiver" button on the confirmation page....: Allows you to place a button on the confirmation page that lets the participant restart the waiver. This is extremely useful if you find that you have parties of participants all completing the waiver on the same device (for example, a family of participants).
Enabling this toggle also unlocks a text field to customize the message:

Waiver Index Page
The waiver index page is one of the more useful features that we offer if you are trying to have participants sign multiple waivers.
- Title: The name that will show on the waiver index page for that waiver template. It does not have to match the waiver templates title being used inside the console.
- Position: Refers to where on the list this waiver template will appear.
To see the Waiver Index Page for your account, click on the star in the "Create/Edit Waivers" page of your account:

Waiver Console Nickname
Changes the name that the waiver will appear as in the "View Signed Waivers" portion of your account.
Can be useful if you need to identify a waiver that typically looks similar to another waiver you have.
Waiver Indexing
Prevents the waiver from being indexed by different search engines. Useful if you prefer to not have your waiver show up on search results, but not entirely necessary
NOTE: It may take some time for Google to respond to this setting once it has been activated.

Waiver Custom URL
Your vanity URL is a short, memorable link that takes people straight to your waiver. Once you have made a selection for the custom URL, you can use the vanity URL by typing:
https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/v/[custom URL]
NOTE: The vanity URL must be 4 –18 characters, letters and/or numbers only - no spaces, symbols, or special characters.

Waiver Autotag
The Autotag feature is specifically for waivers that utilize a webhook or an API. When a participant makes it to the confirmation screen, they will be presented with this question:
Waiver Autotag ensures that if a participant opts in, any future waivers they sign through this button will automatically carry the same webhook or API integration.

Redirect URL
In some cases, you may want to send your participants to a different URL upon completion of the waiver. Redirect URL allows you to also configure if the redirect triggers before or after the email is verified.

Webhook
Webhooks can connect your waivers to other apps outside of Smartwaiver. Typically, webhooks are configured at the account level so that all waivers are affected the same way.
This setting overrides that and attaches the webhook to a specific waiver. The webhook will only trigger if the waiver it's configured to is signed.
Email Validation: Controls whether the webhook is activated before or after the email is verified. By default it is set to "Do not wait".

Language
Allows you to select the default language for your waiver. At this time, the available languages that we support are: English, Spanish, French and Simplified Chinese.
NOTE: This setting only changes the default labels in your waiver, and not the verbiage of the waiver itself.

Electronic Signature Consent
Electronic signature consent is the section of a waiver that establishes the signer's agreement to use an electronic signature in place of a handwritten one, and confirms that they understand that signature carries the same legal weight as a physical signature. It typically states that the signer has voluntarily chosen to sign electronically.
We typically do not recommend removing the electronic signature consent - please consult your attorney before utilizing this option.
Signature
In the Waiver Editor you have four options on how to present Signatures and Initials to your participants:
- Drawing: Participant draws their signature/initials with a finger or mouse. (This is the default setting)
- Typing: Participant types their signature/initials with a keyboard (either physical or onscreen)
- Participant’s choice (Drawing default): Participant chooses whether to Type or Draw their signature/initials. Draw is set as the default selection.
- Participant’s choice (Typing default): Participant chooses whether to Type or Draw their signature/initials. Type is set as the default selection.

Using Typed and/or Drawn Signatures
Prefilled Staff Signature
If you or your staff need to sign or initial a document before your participants sign that same document, you can use this setting to add a static signature to your waiver representing that.
Signature Style: By default, this is set to cursive. You can also set it to "text".
Signature: Where you would set the name that you want to appear in the signature.

Third Party Tracking
If you would like to set up a Meta Pixel or a Google Ad on the waiver template itself, you can paste the appropriate IDs in the setting above and you're all set!
Expiration
Your account-level expiration setting acts as the default expiration policy for your waivers. If you need a specific waiver to follow a different expiration period, you can override the account default for that individual waiver here.

Video
Smartwaiver's new video tool is ready to use and is available for all accounts. Adding a video to your waiver is a great way to communicate important safety information, explain expectations, or provide participant instructions before a waiver is signed.
Make Video Required: Hides the "skip" button so that the video has to be viewed in order to see the waiver.
Include a message....: Show's a message above the video that can be customized.
Select Video: Allows you to select the video you would like to use for your waiver.
